The series of Chelsea Quavers Music Puzzles delivers an unparalleled and comprehensive national music curriculum for Years 1 to 6. Loved by school heads, teachers, parents and pupils alike, this beautifully crafted, easy-to-follow series inspires pupils to read, write, perform and compose music.
The syllabus also develops aural and sight-reading skills and teaches pupils about instruments, musical analysis & form and composers from the Baroque era to the present day. These fun, easy-to-follow and engaging activities foster a love of music and learning in general.
The syllabus has been developed over a number of years by our Principal, Claire Meyer, and has been adopted as the foundation of our teaching for beginners and young pupils. Perfect for classroom teaching, after school clubs, and individual pupils to compliment instrumental and/or singing tuition.
The syllabus covers the core elements of the ABRSM Theory, Aural and Sight Singing material from Grade 1 to 2.
Completion of the series fully prepares pupils to sit the ABRSM Grade 1 Theory exam – an accredited qualification. For more information about ABRSM accreditation click here.
Because of its simplicity and step-by-step approach, the syllabus can be delivered by form teachers, or music teachers. We can also provide Chelsea Quavers’ Tutors to deliver the syllabus in-house, either as part of your school’s music syllabus, or as an after school club.
