Founded in 2013 by Claire Meyer, Chelsea Quavers Music School provides high-quality one-to-one music tuition for children in a supportive, inspiring and nurturing environment.
Our aim is simple: to help every child develop confidence, musical ability and a genuine enjoyment of music. Whether a pupil is taking their very first music lesson, preparing for ABRSM exams, studying GCSE or A Level Music, or simply learning for pleasure, we carefully match every student with the tutor best suited to their individual needs.
Over the years we have built lasting relationships with many of our families and tutors, with a large number remaining part of the Chelsea Quavers community since the school was founded.
Every child learns differently, so we take the time to understand each pupil before lessons begin. Parents and pupils are invited to meet with our Principal, either in person or via Zoom, to discuss musical interests, previous experience and future goals. This also gives us the opportunity to answer any questions and carefully match each child with the tutor best suited to their individual needs.
Every Chelsea Quavers tutor is chosen for both their musical ability and their approach to teaching. All tutors hold a recognised music degree, have a minimum of two years’ teaching experience, are DBS checked and reference verified, and are passionate about helping young musicians grow in confidence. Many of our tutors come to us through personal recommendation.
Once we’ve matched your child with the right tutor, we arrange an initial lesson to ensure they feel comfortable and confident. If you ever feel another tutor would be a better fit, we’re happy to arrange a change.
Following each lesson, tutors provide feedback to the Principal, and parents are always welcome to contact us to discuss their child’s progress or request a written progress report.
Whether your child is preparing for an ABRSM practical or theory exam, or studying GCSE or A Level Music, our tutors provide expert guidance every step of the way. We also offer exam entry, booking support and personalised preparation to help every pupil feel confident and achieve their best.
